I'm not able to log into my github due to me losing access to my Gmail. is there a way for me to regain access? someone to help me re-assign a new email to my github?

As this is an account related issue, I recommend you contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Device verification on sign-in, unable to access email" and explain your problem.

If you’ve lost access to the Gmail account linked to your GitHub, your options depend on how your account was set up and what recovery methods you still control:

1. Check if you’re still logged in somewhere.
   If you’re still signed into GitHub on any device or browser, go to
   Settings → Emails → Add email address, add your new email, verify it, and then remove the old one. That’s the easiest path.

2. If you’re completely logged out:
   GitHub uses your email for authentication and password resets, so if you’ve lost access to that Gmail, GitHub support needs to step in manually.
   Go to:

   Provide:

   • Your GitHub username
   • The old email address on the account
   • Proof of account ownership (like repo names, billing info if you had a paid plan, SSH keys, etc.)

   Their Trust & Safety team can verify you and help reassign a new email once ownership is confirmed.

3. If your Gmail was hacked or deleted:
   Also try recovering it directly through Google:

   Regaining Gmail access first is often faster than GitHub’s manual recovery.
