When I try to sign in to my GitHub account, I receive the following message:

"We tried sending an SMS to your configured number, but our SMS provider doesn't deliver to your area. Please contact support if you continue to have problems."

Previously, I was able to receive SMS messages on this number without any issues, but now it says that delivery is not supported in my area. As a result, I’m unable to access my account.

Please look into this issue and help me resolve it.

The message you’re seeing usually happens when GitHub SMS provider cannot deliver messages to your region. Even if your number worked previously, regional restrictions or provider changes can affect SMS delivery. Here’s what you can do:

1. Try alternative verification methods

   • If you have set up recovery codes, use one to log in.
   • If you have another authentication method configured (like Authenticator app), try that.

2. Update your phone number

   • If possible, add a different number in your account settings once you regain access.

3. Contact GitHub Support directly

   • Since this is blocking your access, GitHub Support can verify your identity and help you regain access: GitHub Support Contact

Important

Make sure to include your username and a clear explanation of the SMS issue. They usually respond within a few business days.

Quizás abriste por error /copilot.

Prueba de acceder a la página de soporte de GitHub y asegúrate de inciar correctamente tu cuenta.
Pide ayuda abriendo un ticket

Si tienes prisa y/o no responden correctamente a tu pregunta, añade un método de autenticación distinto como una aplicación 2FA (Google Auth, 2FAAP,etc.) - Esto te salvará temporalmente un tiempo hasta que puedas usar el número de teléfono deseado.

Tienes o experimentas otro tipo de error?

hi @ogcae Actually i didn't add any alternative verification methods, and also that one is my official account, that's why i'm worried so much about it, and try again and again if I got the SMS, Also I already create a ticket regarding this issue but they didn't response yet, it's almost 1 weeks they didn't reply, I really need to recover this!

currently I am replying from my personal account, and from my official git account I still cannot logged in past 2-3 weeks!

This is definitely a Github bug, it should be reported.
Similarly, try to create a support ticket and report the bug
