Global setting of PreferRebaseInsteadOfMerge to false

Hello,

Is there a way to globally default PreferRebaseInsteadOfMerge to false? As of now, the only way to do this is a manually change the value when doing a pull. Sure, it is saved per local repo afterwards, but is there a way to have this set automatically as the default instead of the default being true?
