Simple open-source clone of the Caffeine Mac app for Ubuntu.
Written in Python, tested and developed on Ubuntu 14.04LTS.
First make sure to remove the other caffeine if you have installed it:
sudo apt-get remove caffeine --purge sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:caffeine-developers/ppa sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:behda/ppa Now you can install:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kzar/caffeine sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install caffeine nohup caffeine & Upload a new PPA release (Only package maintainer needs to do this, assumes version 0.0.2):
git clone https://github.com/kzar/caffeine tar -zcf caffeine_0.0.2.orig.tar.gz caffeine cd caffeine debuild -S dput ppa:kzar/caffeine ../caffeine_0.0.2_source.changes # Release for other Ubuntu releases (precise, utopic) http://askubuntu.com/a/30146/336620 Icons are copyright James Creixems, he kindly made them available for use, for free in any projects.
