ipythonhas a dependent package calledtraitlets. When dependabot updates some package version, it is updating the package version fortraitletsas well (see #528#530#531 ).traitlets>=5.0.0doesn't work with Python 3.6, which is why a lot of the CI tests from dependabot are failing for Python 3.6 and succeeding for Python 3.7+.Planning to remove
ipythonas a dev dependency altogether, since it is unneeded.
