I love how fast the mobile app gives notifications. the UI is also quite nice.

although it would be really nice in case of spam or scam notifications that it gives a warning when it might be the case like from an unknown repository to my account or something maybe even offer an option to report it directly there or to mark it as safe.
for example if a repository if've never been associated with mentions me and other users not asocciated with it in a new issue it might be nice if it could give a warning or something at the notification that it might be spam with an option to report spam with like 1 button.

i'm saying this because i recently got a notification from a github issue that was a obvious scam attempt and i do think that they could make it clearer that it might be spam or a scam attempt

there are lots of issues with it which does make it easy to tell that it isn't real but i wouldn't be surprised if some people were affected by this.

if for example github realised that this was the 466th very similar issue that pings a lot of users it would've been nice to delay the notifications or to include in the notifications some warning like ("this notification is from a repository you have no connection with accept notifications from this, mark as spam or ignore")
ofc worded better but that wouldn't be my task.

also it was taken down quite quickly i'm pretty sure within like 20 min or so but this will ofc still maybe affect other users.

I'm also being plagued by these types of notifications, increasingly so. These are also coming from random users, there's no control over who can mention me - I've had to filter out these types of notifications in my mailbox but I can't do the same for the notifications overview of Github itself.

It is becoming incredibly frustrating.

They're now correctly hidden so you won't see inaccurate counts anymore, and you will no longer be seeing any of these notifications in your inbox.
