Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5 is in public preview for GitHub Copilot

Anthropic’s newest model, Claude Haiku 4.5, is now rolling out in GitHub Copilot. Haiku 4.5 is designed to deliver high performance with faster response speeds, giving developers a responsive option for everyday coding and editing tasks.

Availability in GitHub Copilot

Claude Haiku 4.5 will be available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise plans. You can select the model in the Copilot Chat model picker from:

• Visual Studio Code (chat, ask, edit, and agent modes)
• github.com
• GitHub Mobile on iOS and Android
  The rollout is gradual—if you don’t see it yet, check back soon.

Enabling access

• Enterprise & Business plans: Administrators must enable the Claude Haiku 4.5 policy in Copilot settings. Once enabled, users in the organization will see Claude Haiku 4.5 in the model picker within Visual Studio Code.
• Pro & Pro+ plans: Enable the model by selecting it in the Visual Studio Code model picker and confirming the one-time prompt.
• Bring Your Own Key: Choose Manage Models from the picker, select Claude Haiku 4.5, and enter your API key when prompted.
  For the best experience, we recommend using Visual Studio Code version 1.105 or higher, as ongoing updates for this model land first in the newest client builds.

Timeline known for when it will become available for Jetbrains IDEs? Or does that fall under the gradual rollout as well?

Might be worth for a dev to have a way to validate why a certain model is not available in its IDE. Whether it is due to being rolled out or due to (an admin) not having it enabled yet.

We have not rolled out to Jetbrains IDEs yet. You can always see which IDEs have access to which models in our docs: https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/reference/ai-models/supported-models#supported-ai-models-per-client

So does this new model address the apparently massive copyright concerns of Co-Pilot at all?

For some reasons, our admin didn't have the option to enable Haiku (but notice that other Antropic Sonnet models works just fine). Is there any sort of things we got to do to enable Haiku?
