This PR addresses https://bugs.python.org/issue34451. I followed Raymond's comment to display the note only in the HTML version of the documentation using the Sphinx
.. only::directive. I confirmed the new text appears in themake htmloutput but is absent from the output ofmake text.The first place that the

However, discussion of the examples in the manual is deferred to the following page https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/introduction.html, and this was the location referenced in the bpo.
